Maps of Oases

Thanks to our bibliographic research now we know the exact location of 889 different oases around the world. But more work needs to be done to obtain a complete map of oases of the world. You can help us with the creation of this map in the “Contribution” tab.

Here you can explore the map of oases of the world, with some information about how many people lives near the oasis, the temperature, precipitation or some species which lives in this oasis:

But also, we are using powerful machine learning technics to create a global map of oases including not only the oases studied in the bibliography but other no so well studied. It is important to create a map with boundaries to be able to protect these ecosystems. Here you can see the first results.
